The Embassy welcomed the participants of the U.S.-Ukraine Policy Dialogue, organized by the US-Ukraine Foundation (USUF), on September 28, 2006.

Among the participants of this forum are members of Ukraine ’s parliament, officials of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, former ambassadors of Ukraine to the US and former US ambassadors to Ukraine , experts of the think tanks, representatives of media, business community, and non-government organizations.

This day four groups — Politics and Governance; Foreign Policy and National Security; Economics and Business; and Media and Information — presented recommendations. Ambassador Oleh Shamshur made a short speech at the last session.

At the Embassy’s reception the letter of the Ukraine ’s President Victor Yushchenko addressed to the USUF on occasion of its 15 th anniversary was read out. Nadia McConnell, president of the US-Ukraine Foundation, addressed the audience.

Embassy’s reception gathered about 150 guests, including the participants of the Policy Dialogue, partners of the USUF, numerous representatives of the US government agencies and non-government organizations, who met with Policy Dialogue participants in DC and provided further insight on issues discussed at the forum.
