WB Vice President Shigeo Katsu positively evaluates efforts of Ukraine's Gov't in overcoming fallouts of world financial crisis

Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Shigeo Katsu announced today following the meeting with Vice Prime Minister on European and Interntaional Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria.

“Ukraine has found itself in a very complicated situation. But we are pleased to note that on this early stage the Government of Ukraine have managed to make steps to overcome the fallouts of the crisis. The Agreement with IMF is the proof of it,” Shigeo Katsu said.

In this situation the WB Vice President called on the political forces of Ukraine to joint efforts to withstand the crisis and act in the national interests.

“We are well aware that Ukraine is a lively democracy in which many various political forces and points of views exist but the politics should be put aside for now and all the forces should unite and act in the national interests,” Shigeo Katsu stressed.

In his turn Vice Premier of Ukraine Hryhoriy Nemyria urged to depoliticize cooperation of Ukraine with international financial organizations.

Shigeo Katsu also imparted the World Bank actively works over improvement of a system of social maintenance in Ukraine, over support of corporative sector and furthering of investments into infrastructure projects.

“The World Bank Group has already have with Ukraine a long-term and fruitful cooperation but we will intensify our activity,” the Vice President of the World Bank emphasized.
