Ambassador of Ukraine Oleh Shamshur took part in the Festival of Ukrainian Culture

Ambassador of Ukraine Oleh Shamshur participated in the Festival of Ukrainian Culture, which took place under the patronage of the Ukrainian Embassy at the Soyuzivka Heritage Center, Kerhonkson, NY, from 11 to 13 July 2008. The Ukrainian National Association (UNA), which is one of the most old-established Ukrainian public institutions in the USA, came forward as the chief organizer of this cultural event.

In his speech at the opening ceremony Dr. Shamshur praised decades-long activity of the Ukrainian National Association aimed at preserving and promoting Ukrainian cultural heritage, language, history and traditions in the United States, and expressed his gratitude to the UNA leaders for preparation of this cultural event. He focused also on the cultural exchange programs between the two countries.

Representatives of the Ukrainian community and their numerous American guests enjoyed the marvelous concert program accomplished by musical groups from Ukraine and the Ukrainian Diaspora in the USA.

            Mykola Kyrychenko, the General Consul of Ukraine in New-York, also participated in the Festival of Ukrainian Culture.
