The visit of Minister of Justice of Ukraine to the united States of America

On April 17, 2008, Minster of Justice of Ukraine Mykola Onishchuk held meetings with the US Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Vice-Head of the Federal Election Commission Ellen Weintraub, members of the US Court of Federal Claims. During the meetings the parties discussed the prospects for the enhancement of cooperation between the competent authorities of the two states. The parties also agreed upon the range of activities to be implemented in future.

In the framework of the visit Mykola Onishchuk met with the member of the U.S. Senate Committee for Foreign Affairs, Senator Johnny Isakson. The counterparts discussed the issues of criminal justice reform and judicial reform in Ukraine as well as anti-corruption matters. The same topic was raised between Mr. M.Onishchuk and political analysts of the German Marshall Fund of the U.S.
