Hryhoriy Nemyrya: Ukraine and the EU push aside the last obstacle in Ukraine's accedence to the WTO
Ukraine and the EU have succeeded to achieve compromise on export duties by pushing aside the last obstacle in Ukraine’s way to the World Trade Organization, Vice Prime Minister for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyrya informed. “Today we have achieved compromise by solving an issue on export duties which remained a problem one since 2006,” Hryhoriy Nemyrya said. “This renders possible the discussion of the closing report of the working group in January already and offers the prospect of positive solving of Ukraine’s accedence to the WTO at the General Council session within the first decade of February”. Hryhoriy Nemyrya chaired a delegation of Ukraine left for London on Wednesday for discussing accedence of Ukraine to the WTO with EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mendelson. “So, success of negotiations is an important step toward creation of deep free trade area with the EU in the future,” the Vice Prime Minister said.
