Dear Adoptive Parents

The Embassy of Ukraine to the United States of America and the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York in cooperation with the Ukrainian National Association of the United States were pleased to meet American families that have adopted Ukrainian children at a special Adoptive Parents Event held in Soyuzivka, a beautiful mountain resort, on August 2-5, 2009.

This annual event was a tremendous opportunity for the families to meet other adoptive parents and to discuss issues of common interest. Soyuzivka, the ethnic Ukrainian resort, gave the adoptive families a chance to get a touch of Ukrainian culture and traditions – Ukrainian music, dances, cuisine and crafts – thus getting to know their children even better.

All event participants had an opportunity to take part in heritage sessions, in cooking of Ukrainian traditional food. The program also included hiking tours and pool sessions for children.

During the event lively and entertaining performances have been given by the participants of Ukrainian dance camp, young Ukrainian singers and musicians.

The young guests of the Adoptive Parents Event got special gifts from the Embassy of Ukraine and the Consulate General of Ukraine in with the support of the Ukrainian National Association.
