In Gothenburg the opening of the exhibition “Meet Ukraine – Find the Part of Sweden” took place dedicated to 300 years of political and military alliance between Swedish King Charles XII and Cossack leader Hetman Ivan Mazepa.

The exhibition was organized by Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden, the Ukrainian Swedish cultural association in Gothenburg, and “Emigranternas Hus” public organization.

The represented materials inform on tight Ukrainian-Swedish connections, starting from the period of the Kiyv Rus and up to nowadays.

Ambassador of Ukraine in Sweden Mr Yevgen Perebyinis addressed the audience and informed on contemporary relations between Sweden and Ukraine, in particularly results of the recent state visit of King Karl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Quenn Silvia to Ukraine.

During the opening Ukrainian songs were presented by the tenor of Gothenburg opera M.Gilyov, and the exhibition of works of Ukrainian artist Lyudmyla Sannik was held.
