The Annual meeting of the Slovak-Ukrainian Association was held on November, 27 in Bratislava. Mrs. Inna Ognivets, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic, took part in that meeting.
23 November 2008 in Bratislava took place the commemoration actions on the occasion of observation of the 75th anniversary of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine
On October 29 2008, in House of culture “Ruzinov” Bratislava with the great success has been held concert of the Folk dance children choreography ensemble “Polunychka” from Lvov (Artistic Director – Natalia Dobynda), organized by EU in SR with the support of Slovak-Ukrainian Association for the purpose of acquaintance of citizens and visitors of capital of Slovakia with the Ukrainian national creativity.
On October 19 2008, in Smolnik, near Kosice, where is living Ukrainian minority, has been held solemn christening of Orthodox Temple of the Protection of the Mother of God, that was made by archbishop of Presov and Slovak Jan.
Working meeting on the issues of opening of the new auto check-point Ulich -Zabrod on the common Ukraine-Slovakia border took place in the v.Ulich Snynsky okres of the Slovak Republik on 17 october 2008

Parliament recognises Ukrainian famine of 1930s as crime against humanity. In a resolution on the commemoration of the Holodomor, the artificial famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933, MEPs describe it as "an appalling crime against the Ukrainian people, and against humanity"
