On the 23^d of November 2008 on occasion of the 75^th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine a lecture and film demonstration about historical events of those tragical years for Ukrainian nation were held at the Embassy of Ukraine. Representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in United Arab Emirates closely listened to the lecture filled with personal emotions and feelings of the cultural attaché of the Embassy of Ukraine Taras Bosak who gave a lecture. After that the participants exchanged their thoughts and drew a conclusion that it is vitally important to remember our history especially its dark pages in order not to go through them again.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the UAE Sergiy Pasko one more time emphasized that Ukraine does not seek any compensation from any side and only strives to use its moral right to commemorate millions of starved Ukrainians.

The foreign diplomats could also get acquainted with the materials of photo-exhibition „Executed by hunger: unknown genocide of Ukrainians 1932-1933”, which had been prepared by the Embassy and inaugurated in its premises on the 18th of November.
