On occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine

On November 12, 2008, on occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine, the Brussels Community of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Mission of Ukraine to NATO co-organized a commemorative prayer to memory millions of innocent victims of the Holodomor(artificial famine) in Ukraine of 1932-1933.

This week, Brussels will host a meeting of NATO foreign ministers which will give a comprehensive assessment of Ukraine's progress in conducting reforms. Among other things, the meeting will discuss NATO's Membership Action Plan for Ukraine. I shall be straightforward: We are interested in the MAP and we are expecting a positive signal from the alliance. We believe we are ready for deeper cooperation. Taking it to a qualitatively new level will undoubtedly be mutually beneficial.
