On November 12, 2008, on occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine, the Brussels Community of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Mission of Ukraine to NATO co-organized a commemorative prayer to memory millions of innocent victims of the Holodomor(artificial famine) in Ukraine of 1932-1933.  

Commemorative ceremony took place at St.Michael and St.Gudula Cathedral in Brussels (Cathedral of Belgium Royal Family).  

The commemorative prayer was served by His Eminence Mykhaïl Hrynchyshyn, C.Ss.R., Bishop for the Greek-Catholic Ukrainians of France, Benelux and Switzerland accompanied by priests, representatives of  Belgian and foreign communities, together with the Ukrainian faithful and guests.
