On October 15, 2008, in the framework of his visit to the NATO HQ, Brussels, Special Representative of Ukraine for Transnistrian Settlement Victor Kryzhanivskyi took part in the special session of NATO senior Political Committee.

The Special Representative of Ukraine addressed the Alliance’s representatives on current developments of Transnistrian settlement, mediator’s efforts of Ukraine as well as Ukraine – the EU co-operation in the context of activities of the Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM). The Mission helps to reach European standards in border management, in particular in customs’ matters, and in wider cense, improves establishment of efficient mechanism of international monitoring on Ukraine-Moldova border.

Participants of the meeting confirmed that Transnistrian settlement was a key factor for ensuring both the regional and European security and stability.
