During the press conference in Brussels President Victor Yushchenko stressed that he was very optimistic about Ukraine’s possible invitation to NATO Membership Action Plan at the Alliance’s Bucharest Summit.

According to him Ukraine still has a lot of work and talks with different sides to make the thing happen. Yet V. Yushchenko recalled that he had hold a number of bilateral meetings and phone talks with the leaders of Alliance’s key members and was very satisfied with the results. “Within the last few weeks, I think, we have achieved a good progress”, - he said.

President also stressed again, that the decision of Ukraine to join NATO Membership Action Plan posed no threat for any other party.
