On July 23, 2008, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lebanon Mr. Borys Zakharchuk met with the newly appointed Minister for Youth and Sports of Lebanon Mr. Talal Arslan.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospect of development of the Ukrainian – Lebanese bilateral relations in humanitarian area.

The Ambassador B.Zakharchuk noted the intention of Ukraine to develop mutually beneficial relations with Lebanon. In particular, he emphasized the need for political dialogue intensification between Ukraine and Lebanon which gradual internal political situation stabilization in Lebanon should contribute to.

The parties agreed with the need for dialogue intensification at the level of the concerned ministries, extension of the contractual and legal base of the bilateral relations and cooperation development in the view of hosting of Euro-2012 by Ukraine.
