On July 1, 2008, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Norway Mr. Oleksandr Tsvetkov met with the Minister of Defense of Norway Ms. Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen.

During the conversation, the state and prospect of cooperation between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Norway in the military area were discussed and mutual endeavor to its further intensification was noted. In the course of the meeting, special attention was paid to the present problems of integration of Ukraine into the Euro-Atlantic security area and the respective cooperation extension with the NATO countries.

The Norwegian party assured of the willingness to support the Euro-Atlantic intentions of Ukraine later on and rendering the needed practical assistance in reformation of the security and defense sectors.
