On February 3, 2010, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Mykola Kulynich had a meeting with the Secretary General of the Supreme Court of Japan Toshimitsu Yamasaki. During the meeting the Ambassador entrusted a letter from Vasyl Onopenko, the Head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine to Hironobu Takesaki, the Head of the Supreme Court of Japan with a proposition to start a bilateral cooperation in the sphere of low and justice. Toshimitsu Yamasaki perceived positively the initiative of Ukrainian side concerning the establishment of close relationship between both countries' court authorities. He also confirmed that the Japanese side intends to further exchange experiences between both countries' supreme court authorities, and to discuss other concrete matters and directions for future cooperation. Also, the representative of the Supreme Court of Japan highly evaluated the democratic achievements of Ukraine in recent years, and stressed that Japan is ready to provide support and assistance in the process of further reformation in the court system of Ukraine. |
