On January 26 and 27, the third Japan-Black Sea Area Dialog with the topic “Perspectives of changes of wider Black Sea area and role of Japan” was held in Tokyo, under the initiative of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (OBEC).

The Secretary General of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Leonidas Hrizantopulos opened the Forum. The Vice-minister of the Foreign Affairs of Japan Chinami Nishimura made a greeting speech to the Forum participants.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Mykola Kulynich made a principal report on the subject of Replying to the economic development in the Black Sea area: the point of view of Ukraine.

The matters of security in the region, diversification of energy source supply routes, mutual efforts against crisis, cooperation with EU and NATO, and other matters were discussed during the meeting.

The representatives of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation, Japanese high level officials, diplomats and scientists, representatives of the European Commission and European Parliament participated in this event.
