Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association
On the 11th of September, 2006, in order to promote existing mutually beneficial economic relations between Ukraine and Cyprus, the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association was created under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support of the Embassy of Ukraine.
During this first meeting the Memorandum of Activity and the Charter of Association were adopted as well as its leadership was elected (a president of Cypriot Accountant Company “Rotsas & Co” Mr. Christos Rotsas was elected as a President; a managing director of Cypriot juridical company “K.Treppides & Co” Mr. Kikis Treppides and Mr. Sergey Zadoroznyy, one of the leader of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs in Ukraine were elected at post of Vice-presidents. The Ambassador of Ukraine and a diplomat of the Embassy, who is responsible for economic relations, were elected to the Board of Directors and are its members on a permanent basis).
The main aims of the Association are the following: to promote, expand, and encourage economic and trade relations between Cyprus and Ukraine as well as to create and maintain on a regular basis communication between the business communities and politicians of two countries.
For further development of mutually beneficial economic relations between Ukraine and Cyprusfrom 25 to 29 of March, 2008 a working visit to Ukraine of members of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association was organized with assistance of the Embassy. During this visit with assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and the State Budget Agency “Ukrainian Center for Foreign Investment Promotion” economic presentations and seminars were held in Kyiv and Odessa.
This event assisted to promote development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Cyprus, formation of positive international investment climate, acknowledge of trade potential of Ukraine etc.
