Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko stated officially:
I would like to stress once again on what President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko stated yesterday: the President supports the idea of President of the Russian Federation D.Medvedev on holding a summit of concerned States and Governments of the EU countries, Ukraine and Russia on gas issue.
The President emphasized that such a summit shall be held under the auspices of the European Union. Therefore we think that this summit should take place in the capital of the EU country holding the presidency - in Prague, or in Brussels, or in another European capital.
It is illogical, to our mind, to hold it in a capital of one of the countries parties to the gas conflict. |
