The Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine opens accreditation of journalists for the events within the International Forum dedicated to 75th anniversary of 1932-33 Famine in Ukraine - to be held on November 17-22, 2008 in Kyiv.
In order to obtain accreditation, journalists have to fill in the e-form (attached) and send it to the e-mail i.demydenko@mfa.gov.ua putting “Holodomor and the date of the event” as the subject of the message. The deadline for applications is 4:00 PM November 17, 2008.
Upon receipt and processing of all applications, on November 18, 2008 at 9:00 AM all lists of journalists accredited for the events will be forwarded to the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine, State Committee for television and radio broadcasting of Ukraine, and Sumy Region State Administration.
Please note that the number of accredited journalists will be limited. We kindly ask for your understanding in this regard.
Confirmation of accreditation may be obtained at the Presidential Secretariat, State Committee for television and radio broadcasting of Ukraine, and Sumy Region State Administration.

The International Forum dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-33 in Ukraine will be held in Kyiv on 22 November, 2008 within the framework of the Remembrance Year of its victims, proclaimed by the President of Ukraine.
The Forum aims at attracting attention of the international community to the tragic events of Holodomor, informing the world about it as a pre-planned anti-Ukrainian policy of the Stalinist regime and working out join actions to prevent genocide and other crimes against humankind.
The International Forum will see the heads of state and government, representatives of legislative power, international organizations –altogether up to 20 delegations.
Reputed political and public figures, representatives of Ukrainian diaspora and scholars will attend the event. On the whole, the Forum is expected to see 150 representatives of foreign states.
V.Yushchenko, President of Ukraine as well as other heads of state will address the Forum in the National Opera House.
The participants of the International Forum will watch social and political composition performed by the Dakh (the Roof) theatre, as well as visit the Assumption Cathedral in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Monastery.
After the International Forum, the ceremony of unveiling the Holodomor victims Memorial will be held, during which foreign guests will participate in laying pots with wheat and candles to the Memorial, traditional Light-the-candle ceremony and the National minute of silence.
